Wow, Christmas is just around the corner! I don’t know about you, but if I hear one more person say, “I’m already done.” to me, I think I’ll scream!!! I am NOT done! I never am until right up to the big day. I’m not sure why, but I think I like to ponder over the gifts I buy and change my mind 50 times or so. Yesterday, I took a break from the craziness, and worked on a project I had been procrastinating on. About a month or so ago, I found a small Christmas tree at Goodwill for $15. I really wanted a tree in my dining room this year, and since the one I had been scoping out was $200, $15 sounded pretty good to me!
I wanted to create something beautiful without spending a lot of money. I let the kids put colored lights on our real tree, so this I wanted this tree to be my pretty little mom-tree with white lights and gold & silver ornaments. I found the perfect ornaments at the dollar store. Then, using some old sheet music I had lying around, my crafty friend Joy and I made a huge topper and some little pinwheel ornaments to go on it as well.
Well, without further ado, here she is:
We weren’t sure how to do it, since she doesn’t give instructions, so we just started rolling the sheet music until it looked right. We staples and glued it in place onto a small paper plate. To place it on the tree, we just stapled a ribbon to the back of the plate, as shown below.
